Spring Carnival - Derby Day 2006
Another spring carnival gone. With a record crowd, Derby Day seemed to be the place to be. You were lucky if you could find a spot of grass to sit on. Don't even attempt to go to the birdcage, shoulder-to-shoulder all around.
It was good to see so many people, both men and women take the time to dress-up and make an effort. Although, I'd never seen sooo many "boobies" in my life. It was everywhere I turned. It was a young crowd, and I don't think they came to see the horses either.
A lovely time had by all, if not, it was quite an experience.
Winner of the day was "Efficient" a lovely horse from New Zealand.
"Cheese"

And the look on their face at the end of the day "Priceless".
Lesson for the kids: Pace yourselves, wear sunscreen and a hat.
